Sweet serendipity

Went to the Eveleigh Markets again today and bought some delicious stuff.  By the time I got down the far end of the markets, though, I had run out of cash - there aren’t any ATMs onsite, and some stalls have portable eftpos machines but not many.  I had gotten most of the things I had wanted (lamb, bread, fruit, muesli, delicious milk and yoghurt), but saw the Sweetness The Patisserie stall as I was heading out.  I sampled the deliciously pillowy marshmallows and the incredible toffee, but realised I didn’t have enough coins left to buy anything.  Oh well, not so bad, I did have lots of other things.

While waiting for D, K and E to arrive for our morning coffee, I trundled my purchases back to the car.  As I headed up to Wilson Street, I saw a couple of cellophane packets on the ground ahead of me.  They must have fallen out of someone’s bag.  When I got closer I saw they were two small rectangular packages of Sweetness marshmallows!  Chocolate and coconut.  I picked them up and looked around for anyone they might have belonged to, but there was nobody else nearby.  So I brought them home.

I would have posted a photo but mum and I ate them before I thought to do that.  And they were delicious.  Manna from heaven!  (it would have been even more poetic if they had been cakes from the Manna from Heaven stall but hey, I’ll take the Sweetness marshmallows any day!)

    what's it all about?

I'm a Christian. I get absorbed in lots of different pursuits, and my attention frequently gets snagged on whatever latest shiny thing pops into my view. I write, I sing, I design, I read, I edit, I make things, I play WoW, I play piano, I try and record music. And I struggle with depression. This blog is about all these things. And probably other things as well.
