dirigibles!

The observant among you (and those not using an RSS reader) will have noticed I’ve finally got around to the blog redesign. Am still playing with things, but generally it’s a lot more me than the plain grey boxes that have graced the site recently.
The main inspiration was stumbling across these fantastic Steampunky photoshop brushes (her art is also quite delightful). I’ve developed a sudden liking for dirigibles - I think it might be the word ‘dirigible’ that clinches it, but mainly I like the whimsical nature of them (see down the bottom of the page).
And that’s what the site name The Procrastinatrix is all about. The nature of the blog has changed a bit since I started it as The Laundrette, when I was a lot more ranty. I’m still ranty on occasion, but now my writing’s more about thinking about bigger things and at the same time delighting in all the bits and pieces that snag my attention throughout my meanderings. I wondered for awhile whether championing the cause of procrastination was subconsciously damaging to actually producing anything. But I have come to terms with that (heh), and see it more as a necessity. Sometimes the best ideas creep in unnoticed while you’re absorbed in something else…
And then sometimes, I’m just procrastinating.

what's it all about?
I'm a Christian. I get absorbed in lots of different pursuits, and my attention frequently gets snagged on whatever latest shiny thing pops into my view. I write, I sing, I design, I read, I edit, I make things, I play WoW, I play piano, I try and record music. And I struggle with depression. This blog is about all these things. And probably other things as well.
